The Clear Lake Taiwanese Association (明湖台灣同鄉會) is a local chapter of the Taiwanese Association of America (TAA, 全美台灣同鄉會), the national umbrella organization for Taiwanese American community associations in the United States. The chapter serves the Taiwanese American community in the Clear Lake area of Texas, a region southeast of Houston near NASA’s Johnson Space Center, and is listed under the TAA’s Southern (美南) regional grouping.

Timeline / Role in the Community

  • TAA maintains a dedicated chapter page in the TAH archive: TAA 明湖城台灣同鄉會 (2015) — confirming the chapter’s standing within TAA’s Southern (美南) region.
  • A brief chapter history is held as community record: [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/history-of-taiwanese-association-of-america-clear-lake-tx|TAH #12 明湖城同鄉會簡介]] (2017-10-06).
  • 2017 TAA Southern-region organizing notes (in the same corpus record) list Clear Lake among the chapters expected to convene regional meetings alongside Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, etc., and to sustain the 美南夏令會 and TAA Archives.
  • Chapter members appear in 2018台灣人名錄 — 大休士頓地區及明湖城 (TAH, 2018).
  • The directory/roster series shows continuous local presence: 616. 台灣名人錄 — 大休士頓地區及明湖城 (2015-04-19) and 966. 2016台灣人名錄 — 大休士頓地區及明湖城台灣同鄉會 (2016-03-07); the 2016 volume names the chapter 明湖城台灣同鄉會 in its own title, matching the other corpus records.
  • Re-checked 2026-09-22 (slice 09220400-4): corpus grep (明湖 / Clear Lake) returned only the records already linked above; no new facts, HOLD naming conflict unchanged. Re-check 2026-09-23 (slice 09221200-5): hit set unchanged (chapter page, TAH #12 簡介, #155 座談會, 616/966/1243 名人錄) — verified saturated; HOLD naming conflict 明湖 vs 明湖城 still open.
  • The chapter also surfaces in movement-organizing minutes: 155. 台美人檔案座談會 in 2007美南夏令會 records the conclusion 「我們要從Local開始」 and names the chapters called on to convene regional meetings and sustain the 美南夏令會 and TAA Archives — Dallas、Houston、New Orleans、Austin、Baton Rouge、Clear Lake、College Station、San Antonio 及 Oklahoma 州的同鄉.
  • HOLD: naming conflict — this page carries 明湖台灣同鄉會; both corpus records title the chapter 明湖城台灣同鄉會 / 明湖城同鄉會. Not auto-merged; awaiting owner confirmation of the official name.
  • 2026-09-24 corpus re-grep (slice 09230600-14): hit set unchanged (616 名人錄, TAH #12 簡介, ourjourneys155, 966, 1243, clear-lake-tx-chapter-taa) — every hit already linked above with facts absorbed. Verified saturated; SKIP-content. HOLD 明湖 vs 明湖城 still open.
  • 2026-09-25 corpus re-grep (slice 09240600-17): hit set unchanged (616, TAH #12 簡介, ourjourneys155, 966, 1243, clear-lake-tx-chapter-taa). Nothing new absorbable — SKIP (verified-saturated). HOLD 明湖 vs 明湖城 still open.

SKIP-content. HOLD 明湖 vs 明湖城 still open (no owner answer since 09-22).

  • 2026-10-04T20:29:52Z slice 09300855-5 re-grep (明湖 / Clear Lake, works/ + articles/): hit set unchanged — clear-lake-tx-chapter-taa, TAH #12 簡介, ourjourneys155, 616, 966, 1243. 616/966/1243 are title-only mentions (大休士頓地區及明湖城), bibliographic records that carry no chapter-level body text, so no new member/roster facts surfaced. SKIP (verified-saturated). HOLD 明湖 vs 明湖城 still open — all three 名人錄 titles say 明湖城, the page H1 still says 明湖; no owner answer since 2026-09-22 (held, not auto-merged).

  • Path pitfall: the audit grep must run root-relative (works/ articles/). A literal content/works prefix from the content root matches nothing and fakes saturation.

Genuine hit set unchanged (clear-lake-tx-chapter-taa, TAH #12 簡介, ourjourneys155, 616, 966, 1243), all already linked and absorbed. SKIP (verified-saturated).
