Echopedia

Echopedia is the public knowledge base of the Taiwanese American Historical Society (TAHS / 台美人歷史協會). It documents people, congregations, and organizations that shape Taiwanese American life — with bilingual names, careful verification notes, and links across a living archive.

What Echopedia is (and isn’t)

Is

  • A public, linkable encyclopedia of Taiwanese American people, organizations, and historical works (interviews, essays, bibliographic records)
  • Bilingual where evidence allows (Chinese names + romanization)
  • Conservative about verification — pending pages are labeled as such
  • Maintained as part of the Echo / TAHS community systems stack

Isn’t

  • A social network or private member directory
  • An automated dump of every blog chrome slide, gift-guide, or private message
  • A substitute for primary archives, interviews, or academic monographs

Contribute & correct

Community memory is stronger when many hands review it.

  1. Browse existing pages and note errors (names, roles, chronology).
  2. Prefer sources you can point to: publications, public records, consented oral history.
  3. Reach TAHS / Echo maintainers via the community channels that already use Echopedia for onboarding and documentation.
  4. Respect privacy — do not publish private contact data, keys, or non-consented personal details.
