Golden Eagle Institute is a continuing education institution founded in 1991 in the Greater New York area, established under the leadership of the Taiwanese Christian Seniors Association and supported by Taiwanese church, academic, and medical communities. The institute is open to men and women aged 50 and above with basic Chinese reading ability, drawing students from retired business, finance, and education sectors. Courses include English, life philosophy, social studies, Taiwanese Romanization (白話字), art appreciation, psychology, and health medicine, with extracurricular activities such as calligraphy, tai chi, painting, and computer skills. The institute is guided by a dual mission: to pioneer senior education as part of American history, and to serve as a space for preserving Taiwanese cultural heritage. Classes were held for the first five years at Bowne Street Community Church and later at the Overseas Chinese Cultural and Education Center.
