Taiwanese American Professionals Seattle (TAP-Seattle) is a chapter of the Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run entirely by volunteers. TAP-Seattle traces its roots to March 2004, when a group of Taiwanese American professionals in the greater Seattle area formed an organization called TAPS to provide a platform for young Taiwanese and Asian Americans to network and support each other. The inaugural TAPS event was a Career Panel held at the Taiwan Center in April 2004, drawing 40 to 50 attendees. The organization subsequently became TAP-Seattle as part of the nationwide TACL network. TAP-Seattle organizes cultural events, professional development panels, a mentorship program, and a scholarship program for high school students.
