Role in the Community
- Founded 1995; the club practiced every Sunday morning at Alhambra Park (阿罕布拉公園) in Los Angeles, per pharmacist and TAHS co-founder 鄭炳全’s memoir 旅美五十周年 — 鄭炳全 (an earlier corpus copy of the same memoir, archived 2024-03-02, is also held: 旅美五十周年 (2024-03-02 copy)).
- 2003 presidency of 鄭炳全: he invited players from Taiwan to coach the club; the planned spring visit of Taiwan soft-tennis veteran national-team players was delayed to autumn by the SARS outbreak, and the 美台軟網交誼 event was still completed successfully (2020 父親節省思 — 鄭炳全).
- TAH holds a dedicated record of the association: 17. Taiwanese American Soft Tennis Association 台美軟式網球協會.
- Longer community lineage: soft tennis among Taiwanese students in America predates the 1995 founding — 謝伯芳’s memoir of early-1960s Minneapolis recalls players having full soft-tennis sets shipped from Japan and explaining the sport to curious Americans at the court ([[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/ourjourneys-369|TAHS #369 懷憶六十年代前期的明市]], band A).
- Re-verified 2026-09-24 (deepen-x slice 09230317-27): fresh grep (台美軟式網球 / Soft Tennis / 軟式網球) returns the TAH record, the works index, the three 鄭炳全 memoir copies above, and the 謝伯芳 1960s memoir now linked — no further absorbable material.
- Re-verified 2026-09-25 (deepen-x slice 09240317-30): fresh grep again returns the same hit set already absorbed above — SKIP: no new corpus material.
- Re-verified 2026-10-06 (deepen-x slice 10051200-3): whole-tree grep (軟式網球 / 軟網 / Soft Tennis) adds only the Taiwan Center group-members roster row and index listings — all corpus hits (TAH record #17, 鄭炳全 memoir copies ×3, 謝伯芳 #369) already absorbed above. SKIP-with-reason: verified-saturated.
- Re-verified 2026-10-08 (deepen-x slice 10062218-11): fresh grep (台美軟式網球 / Soft Tennis / 軟式網球 / 軟網) across works/articles/sources/events/topics returns exactly the hit set already absorbed above — TAH record #17, 鄭炳全 memoir copies ×3 (旅美五十周年 2025, 父親節省思 2020, 2024-03-02 archive copy), 謝伯芳 #369, plus index/roster listings. No new corpus material. SKIP-with-reason: verified-saturated.
