Taiwanese Association of M. Kentucky (中肯德基)
Identity Snapshot
- English: Taiwanese Association of M. Kentucky
- Chinese: 中肯德基
- Era: Contemporary
- Geography: Taiwanese American community
- Core roles: Community organization (TAH directory)
The Taiwanese Association of Middle Kentucky (中肯德基 台灣同鄉會) is a regional chapter of the Taiwanese Association of America (TAA), the national umbrella organization serving Taiwanese American communities across the United States. The chapter serves the Taiwanese American community in the middle Kentucky area.
Role in the Community
- The chapter’s TAA identity is corroborated in the TAHS story corpus: TAA 全美台灣同鄉會肯德基中部分會 (record published 2015-12-01), whose Chinese title 肯德基中部分會 matches this chapter’s 中肯德基.
- Neighboring-organization context: Kentucky also hosted a FAPA chapter, recorded at FAPA 台灣人公共事務會肯塔基州分會 (era 2015).
- Early community scale: the state-by-state survey in Our Journeys 名錄 lists one Kentucky name — 吳連四 — among the 94 respondents who answered the 1967 founding circulars, and its Kentucky appendix count for that year is 4 names (肯德基州 4名). The 4-name appendix total and the 1-name founding roster are two different layers of the same 1967 directory and must not be collapsed into one figure.
- Continuity gap (open, not evidence either way): 吳連四 recurs in the 2018 南加州台大校友會 protest roster 2018 南加州台大校友會年會 protest, where the same name appears among the 台大 外文系 alumni signatories (in the 外文 group, 吳連四 is the only name listed). No source in the corpus names a Kentucky chapter member or officer, so nothing ties that 2018 signature to the chapter.
Verification & open questions
- Re-verified 2026-09-22 (slice 09211300-22) and 2026-09-25 (slice 09231100-26): corpus grep (中肯德基 / Middle Kentucky / Kentucky-Central) returned only the Kentucky-Central chapter record above plus index rows — no new absorbable community fact at chapter level.
- Re-verified 2026-10-01 (slice 09261100-20): the chapter-level grep is still exhausted (Kentucky-Central / TAA, Kentucky / FAPA, and
works/index.mdindex rows only). Two deeper checks were run to test whether anything could be pulled in below chapter level: (a) 吳連四 grepped alone — he is the only Kentucky name in the 名錄 roster to recur anywhere else in the corpus (the 2018 protest roster above); that roster states no state and no chapter for any signatory, so it neither places him in Kentucky nor ties him to the chapter. (b) The four Kentucky appendix names in the 名錄 appendix — 吳連四, 林茂生, 張炎憲, 黃奇俊 — grepped as a set: all four recur in other works/pages, but on unrelated subjects, and not one is named as a member, officer, or founder of any Kentucky chapter. No founding membership can therefore be lifted from the Kentucky roster. - Index-layer false positive (re-verified 2026-10-01): a broad
Taiwanese Association of Mgrep also hits Taiwanese Association of Madison 麥城台灣同鄉會 — that is the Madison (麥城) chapter, a different organization caught only because the “Taiwanese Association of M…” prefix is shared. It is not a second Kentucky record; do not cite it as corroboration for this chapter. - K-State legend check (2026-10-01): the 名錄 asterisk legend (“打*記號者爲K-State University校友”) sits directly above the state-by-state roster and the Kentucky entry 吳連四 carries no asterisk, so the HOLD (ii) reading holds — no K-State affiliation is asserted for him.
- HOLD (three items — do not auto-merge): (i) The 名錄 appendix total (4) and the 名錄 founding roster (1 Kentucky name) are different layers; keep both counts separate, don’t call it “4 respondents” as if one number. (ii) The 名錄 asterisk after a roster name marks a K-State University alumnus (its own legend: 打*記號者爲K-State University校友); 吳連四 carries no asterisk and Maryland’s 陳淮崇 does, so his asterisk status is unresolved — if 名錄 and the 2018 roster are the same man, his field is 外語系 (foreign languages). Check this before either source is read as a Kentucky chapter affiliation. (iii) The 2018 roster is a Southern California (Los Angeles) alumni gathering — a California signal, not a Kentucky one, and a single instance cannot carry chapter continuity across it.

Re-check (deepen-x 09250600-10, 2026-09-25): fresh ZH+EN grep of content/works + content/articles — hit set identical to prior passes (own record + works/index only). SKIP confirmed; nothing new absorbable, no biography invented.
