Role in the Community
- His own TAH corpus record: 04 (Who’s Who encyclopedia entry, 2016-04-24).
- 1995 — Named as a recipient of the Kingyori Ueh Taiwanese American Cultural Foundation (王桂榮台美文教基金會) 科技研究生獎 (Science & Engineering Graduate Student Award): listed as 陳威光(1995) in the foundation’s laureate roster 20. 王桂榮台美文教基金會得獎人名單, and named among the five winners selected that year (莊明哲, 林聖賢, 李喬, Dr. Joseph Wikerson, and 陳威光君) in the foundation’s 1995 award special issue 785. 台美基金會1995頒獎特刊. Consistent with his physicist/researcher profile (Caltech B.S., Columbia Ph.D., NASA); the “研究生” framing places him as an emerging researcher at the time.
- HOLD: a bare “Andrew Chen” appears in the signatory list of Response to Pew Research Reports Hiding Taiwanese Identity (2021) — common name, identity not confirmed against this person’s NY/NASA profile; not absorbed.
- Re-verified 2026-10-02 (slice 09261400-5): fresh ZH+EN grep (陳威光 / Andrew Chen) of works/ + articles/ — hits only own record whoswho946, the works index, and the unconfirmed bare-name signatory in the Pew statement (still in the anonymous signature block, no affiliation given; HOLD stands). Nothing absorbable.
