  • According to 黃再添’s memoir 9. 第一聲號角：台灣會館建館委員會的誕生 (band A; excerpted from 紐約台灣會館十周年紀念特刊, 1996/07), 辜澄彬 was among the New York-area弟兄 whose conversations about「台灣樓」/「台灣會館」shaped the movement to build a Taiwanese community hall.

  • 1983-11-23: at the 台灣會館建館委員會’s first executive committee meeting (held at 賴弘典醫師’s office), 辜澄彬 chaired the meeting; the committee elected 陳隆豐 as 主任委員 and 辜澄彬 (with 蔡明峰) as 副主委, and 辜澄彬 took charge of the 地點工程組 (site & construction). The committee set a goal of raising $500,000 within six months; 黃武東牧師 was engaged as advisor.
