Career Notes

  • Trained at 東海大學 (B.S. 音樂系) and 西德州農工大學 (M.S. 聲樂); voice study under William Zimerman, 陳盤安, 李靜美, Elsa Porter, Elena Nickolaidi, and Laurel Miller, conducting under Hugh Sanders and Henry Gibbons.
  • Conducted the Taiwanese-American choruses 華聲 (Dallas), 悅友 (Minnesota), 狂飆 (Houston), and 東海大學民謠合唱團; led the 四季合唱團 on Taiwan tours in 1995 and 1999.
  • Engaged as a contracted soloist with the Arlington and Fort Worth opera companies; currently a high-school voice teacher and the artistic director/conductor of the 四季合唱團, and a member of NATS.

Community context (deepen pass 2026-09-14)

  • Her Dallas-area posts (華聲 chorus, Arlington/Fort Worth opera engagements) overlap the vault’s DFW Taiwanese-American community record Fort Worth Chapter, TAA (TAH record); no personal membership is documented.
  • Her Houston conducting post (狂飆 chorus) sits within the vault’s documented Houston Taiwanese choral scene — see [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/344-taiwanese-chorus-of-greater-houston-tcgh-e4-bc-91-e5-a3-ab-e9-a0-93-e5-8f-b0|TAH #344, Taiwanese Chorus of Greater Houston]], a distinct chorus from the one she conducted.
  • The vault’s record of a 四季合唱團 is the Seattle ensemble — [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/29-e8-a5-bf-e9-9b-85-e5-9c-96-e5-9b-9b-e5-ad-a3-e5-90-88-e5-94-b1-e5-9c-98201506|TAH #29:西雅圖四季合唱團(2015/06)]]; likely the same chorus she serves as artistic director/conductor (her tah-tables place her in Dallas/Minnesota/Houston posts — location of her ensemble not stated in the TAH profile).
  • SKIP note(corpus pass 2026-09-14 slice 09141300-23): corpus grep of works/ + articles/ hit only her own TAH encyclopedia entries 255 (already linked above) and the index — no memoir, club history, or press mention of her by others. Nothing absorbable beyond existing content; this pass adds only the 四季合唱團 work link, no new biography.
  • Re-sweep(slice 09142319-4, 2026-09-15): corpus grep (張靜芬/Ching-Fen Lin) again hits only #524/#255 plus the namesake record [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/whos-who-1737-ching-fen-lin|TAH #1737 Ching Fen Lin 林青棻]] — the distinct 林青棻 noted in the disambiguation above, not this person. SKIP-with-reason: nothing absorbable; last_reviewed refreshed only.
