Role in the Community

Cheng is named in the movement’s own memoirs as an enabler of community organizing in Los Angeles: the memoir describes him as 辦公室主任 of the DPP US West Coast office (民進黨美西黨部辦公室) at the 洛杉磯會舘, whose relationship allowed the group’s founding meetings (first meeting 2009-08-16, attended by 鄭瑞源, 王泰和, 洪珠美, the留日台灣人 Mayumi Shira, 許輕甫, 鄧昇東, 洪錦鈺, 呂眾英, 余文貴 and several senior 同鄉; second meeting 2009-09-20) to use the space free of charge — matching the TAH table entry CEO 民進黨美西黨部辦公室 (2009-2010).
