Dr. Scott ChangChien 張簡吉誠醫師 – History of Taiwanese American (T.A. Archives) 台美史料中心

Education

  • Chung Shan Medical Univ. (中山醫學大學) — 1975 — M.D.
  • Tulane Univ. School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine — MPH

Employment

  • UCLA Medical School — Clinical Professor — LOGOS Evangelical Seminary (正道福音神學院) — Board of Directors — Community — North American Taiwanese Medical Association (北美洲台灣人醫師協會) — Member — EFCLA (洛福教會) — Voluntary Missionary Preacher

Role in the Community

  • Founding member, Cleveland Taiwanese Medical Association (Oct 1983) — one of the 25 physicians at the 楓林閣 founding meeting representing the Chung-Shan Medical College cohort; the chapter planned the 1984 founding of the national North American Taiwanese Medical Association at the Midwest Taiwanese American Conference (12; Eng. ourjourneys74-eng) — upgrades the plain “NATMA member” line in the TAH entry: he was a founder at the movement’s first regional chapter.

  • Lay preacher in the diaspora church. 卓甫良 recalls that at the 1994 TAF youth summer camp it was Dr. ChangChien (from Cleveland) — “a devout layman, not a pastor” — who explained the theme “Get Yourself Connected” in fluent, easy English, urging attendees to anchor existence in faith (10) — matches the EFCLA voluntary missionary-preacher role.

  • Own TAH profile record: 1943. Dr. Scott ChangChien 張簡吉誠醫師, 2017-11-14.

  • 2026-09-19 re-grep: SKIP — no corpus hits beyond the works index and his own already-linked records; no new absorbable material.

  • 2026-09-20 re-grep (slice 09191100-5): SKIP — hit set unchanged (own #1943, ourjourneys74, ourjourneys262, works index), all already linked; no new absorbable material.

  • 2026-09-21 re-grep (slice 09191100-5 retry): SKIP — hit set again unchanged; no new absorbable material.

  • 2026-09-21 re-grep (slice 09210317-6): SKIP — hit set again unchanged (own #1943, ourjourneys74, ourjourneys262, works index), all already linked; no new absorbable material.

  • 2026-09-23 re-grep (slice 09221000-8): SKIP — hit set unchanged (own #1943, ourjourneys74 +eng, ourjourneys262, works index, plus the Sisterhood-of-Night false positive on actor Louis Ozawa Changchien), all already linked; no new absorbable material.

  • 2026-09-22 re-grep (slice 09212352-11): SKIP — corpus hit set unchanged (own #1943, ourjourneys74 +eng, ourjourneys262, works index), all already linked. One apparent new hit, Sisterhood of Night (Catherine Huang), is a false positive: “Louis Ozawa Changchien” there is an actor’s surname, not 張簡吉誠; no new absorbable material.
