Role in the Community
- President of TAA-ESGV (聖東台灣同鄉會), the Taiwanese American Association of Eastern Southern Greater Virginia — the community leadership role recorded in the TAH directory entry itself. HOLD: the acronym/Chinese name TAA-ESGV / 聖東台灣同鄉會 is recorded throughout the corpus as the Los Angeles East San Gabriel Valley TAA chapter ( TAA, chapter page ESGV chapter), while his own Who’s Who entry places him in Virginia — the two readings are not merged; the chapter records below are cited only as the corpus footprint of the named organization, not as evidence of his geography. Chapter corpus records: annual meeting specials 聖東台灣同鄉會1998年會特刊 and 2001年會特刊, the Hacienda Heights parade record 18. 美國獨立紀念日哈崗地區遊行, and the chapter’s 總冠軍 win of the 2003 parade (125. 洛杉磯聖東台灣同鄉會榮獲2003年美國獨立紀念日哈崗地區遊行總冠軍).
- Trained in mineral engineering (Taipei工專 1965; Tohoku University, Japan from 1971) and ran Poly Tech Company as a self-employed entrepreneur (1981–2018), anchoring the engineer/entrepreneur strand of the Virginia Taiwanese community.
- Corpus record: 2243. Fu-Ji Liu 劉富吉 (TAH Who’s Who, 2020-02-12). No other corpus mentions found — biography stays as-sourced, nothing invented. Re-grepped 2026-10-07 (slice 10051948-10): five-dir grep (ZH/EN/surname + 聖東/ESGV variants) returns no personal-name hits beyond his own entry and the works index; the ESGV chapter records above are organizational context for the presidency stated in his own directory entry.
