Role in the Community

  • Served as 總幹事 (executive secretary) of 台灣人醫師協會 (NAPAM) — a first-person memoir by 李汝城 recalls attending the 新州中美醫學會 annual meeting together with him, and describes him as a close colleague (「林一洋兄」). See 2016.
  • Died in October 1996 (per the memoir: at his memorial in an English/Mandarin/Cantonese church, 台灣人醫師協會紐約分會會長陳燦世 asked 李汝城 to deliver the NAPAM eulogy on the spot; 李汝城 insisted on delivering it in 林一洋’s mother tongue 福佬話 and translated it himself into English for the congregation. The eulogy was published in 太平洋時報 1996-11-21) — consistent with the Era field 1942-1996.
  • Honored by a memorial lectureship named after him: 54. I-YANG LIN, M.D. MEMORIAL LECTURESHIP 林一洋醫師紀念演講獎 (2015), with a later award record 2018.
  • His TAH Who’s Who encyclopedia entry is held in the corpus as 03.
