Role in the Community
- President of the 北加州台灣同鄉聯合會 in 1994 (the TAH profile’s “1997” below refers to the NATPA Northern California chapter — different organization, no conflict). His own account of the federation’s worst internal crisis: pro-KMT factions (宋瑞珍, 謝鎮寬, 吳新一) tried to strip the president/vice-president votes and expel three hometown associations to steer the federation toward a KMT-friendly line; they later broke away to form the (largely nominal) 台灣鄉情關懷會, and 中半島同鄉會 rejoined the federation in 1998 under president 林彩鳳 (06).
- Under his 1994 presidency the federation held political-education events: a 台灣加入聯合國座談會 with FAPA’s speaker, a 春節晚會 with Dr. 陳永興, and 鄉情座談會 with 張富美, 陳芳明, and 艾琳達 (per the same memoir).
- Contact listed on the Northern California 台灣司法改革/公民運動 roster in the taiwanjustice.net corpus (925 number — consistent with his Albany, CA residence).
- HOLD: financial-commentary articles on the 兆豐案 attributed to 「林健次」(民報 2016-11-28) in taiwanjustice.net articles — same-name identity with this USDA research chemist unverified; do not merge biography.
