Role in the Community

  • FAPA 總會長（Formosan Association for Public Affairs）.
以「John Chen, Laguna Woods Taiwanese Club」名義連署台美人團體對 Pew Research 隱去台灣人認同報告的聲明（2021/05，見 Response to Pew Research Reports Hiding Taiwanese Identity）。
  • Corpus records: his TAH Who’s Who encyclopedia entry 11；另見 123. Note: 910. Carnegie Hero Fund (John Cheng) is a different person (Cheng, not Chen) — not linked.

  • New collision finding: 1725. John Chen 陳耀光 confirmed a distinct person ( TAH Who’s Who entry for 陳耀光, not 陳榮儒). Also 2025-06-16 taiwanjustice 舊金山嬤遇襲 article’s 「約翰．陳（John Chen，音譯）」 is the victim’s grandson (音譯, no 漢名) — a name collision, not 陳榮儒; that article currently back-links this page, link is a false match. All other John Chen article hits are Dr. John Cheng 鄭達志 (Irvine/Laguna Woods 槍擊案).

  • SKIP, quote-gate REJECTED: the sole listed file 20250616004015_舊金山7旬亞裔嬤遇仇恨攻擊_92萬美元醫療募款全_eaebb432ab9f8b59 is an indexer mislink (its Subjects line [[people/john-chen|John Chen]] even carries an unresolvable .md). Fresh read confirms 「約翰．陳（John Chen，音譯）」 is the victim 謝曉真’s grandson who launched the GoFundMe after the 2021-03-17 San Francisco attack — 音譯 only, no 漢名, not 陳榮儒 (b. 1931 屏東, FAPA 總會長, Laguna Woods). Quote NOT pasted; no dated fact absorbed — attributing the grandson’s fundraiser to this page would be invented biography.
  • Fresh sweep (single-quoted ERE, controls non-vacuous 8/21): standalone John Chen (word-boundary, excluding John Cheng) appears in exactly 1 article corpus-wide — this false-match file; the other 16 John Chen* hits are all Dr. John Cheng 鄭達志 collisions. 陳榮儒 hit set (8 files, works/index.md = directory) identical to records already wikilinked above. No new corpus material.
