Role in the Community

  • A fellow musician’s community memoir recalls that as pastor of the Lee Chun-Seng Memorial Church (李春生紀念教會), Rev. Cheng conducted the Taipei YMCA Sacred Music Chorus (台北市 YMCA 聖樂合唱團) with Mrs. Cheng (鄭夫人) at the piano; under his direction the chorus gave a public performance of Haydn’s Die Schöpfung on 1960-05-12 at the Taipei First Girls’ High School (第一女中大禮堂) — see 週末漫談音樂(26): Haydn 的巨作〈創造〉 (Taiwan Justice Net memoir, primary community material). The memoir’s conductor/piano details corroborate the TAH employment table above.
