As 會長 of 全美台灣同鄉會 (Taiwanese Association of America), 洪茂澤 appears at several points in the early-1990s movement record:

  • 1993 春節晚會 (Bay Area): the 西區理事長張信行醫師 asked that the 全美同鄉會會長 visiting from Southern California be allowed five minutes to speak at the banquet; the 北加州聯合會 理事會 granted it, and the decision drew criticism from three association presidents who had pressed for KCC officeholder 詹憲卿 to be allowed to speak instead (Our Journeys 142 — 北加州聯合會 memoir).
