Role in the Community

• President of the Taiwanese Association of America (全美台灣同鄉會) 1987-01-01 to 1988-12-31, per the TAA president roster in the association memoir (TAA); the Bay Area alumni chronicle likewise lists her among 全美台灣同鄉會 presidents alongside 陳都 (37. 台灣協志會成立與大事記).

• As TAA president she proposed adding a women’s department to TAA and invited 呂秀蓮 — newly out of prison and in the US — to spearhead it; the resulting 1988-03-13 founding meeting in Los Angeles produced the independent NATWA (60. 咱的故事—NATWA的歷史).

• Her presidency is credited (with Editor-in-Chief 陳芳明) for the quality of the bimonthly Taiwan Culture, which recorded 228 Incident history, in the Chen Wen-Chen Foundation founding memoir (8. 陳文成教授紀念基金會成立經過).
