- 1983 — New York Taiwan Center building campaign: at the first Executive Committee meeting of the Taiwan Center Building Committee (1983-11-23, held in Dr. Hong-Tien Lai’s office), Morisan Lu was elected head of the publicity group (宣傳組呂明森) under Chairman Lung-Fong Chen, alongside the financial (Fang J. S. Fang), planning (A-Huo Chen), fundraising (Martin Tsai), engineering (Cheng-Bin Ku), and secretary (Patrick Huang) groups. The committee’s launch plan was to raise $500,000 within six months. - 1983–84 — 泛美建築公司 designed 將軍日本餐廳 (Tokyo Japanese Restaurant, NJ): in 李正三’s memoir of founding the New Jersey 將軍 restaurants, 泛美建築公司的呂明森 is described as a 舊識 — 泛美 had already renovated his 元祿壽司 — and 「多才多藝，確是台美中不可多得的人才」; by the 80s 泛美 had designed or renovated over a hundred Japanese restaurants. Lu designed and built the Garden State Parkway location (Japanese garden, tatami rooms, lighting, sushi bar; broke ground 1983-11-01, completed 1984-03-07). He had guaranteed completion by 1984-02-05 and paid 李正三 a $3,000 penalty for the slip — his 「人生第一次」 such a penalty; most of his workers came from Flushing and boarded at the construction site during the build to avoid the commute; he later also worked with David 施 on the design of 將軍27 (Kendall Park, opened 1988-09-24).
