  • A core cadre of the Taiwanese independence movement in the US: after the Formosan Unity League of America (台獨聯盟美國本部) moved its headquarters from Philadelphia to New York in 1968, 陳伸夫 reported to the NY headquarters after completing his studies. The memoir names the full main-force cadre roster of that wave: 張燦鍙、羅福全、蔡同榮、賴文雄、鄭自才、王秋森、許富淵、陳伸夫、洪哲勝、張文棋、王康陸 (per 234. 台獨聯盟美國本部).
  • On 1980-02-24 he met Senator Ted Kennedy in New York together with 蔡仁泰 and 蔡同榮 — the first contact between Taiwanese Americans and Kennedy — pressing him over the Kaohsiung Incident; Kennedy’s first Taiwan human-rights statement followed on 1980-03-05. A 1980 group photo (蔡仁泰, Kennedy, 蔡同榮, 陳伸夫) appears in 蔡同榮.
  • In 1981 he interviewed Kennedy for 台灣公論報 (Taiwan Tribune), pressing on the Taiwan immigration-quota issue, per the same memoir.
