Role in the Community

Community memoirs document his standing in the Taiwanese American medical community and his return to Taiwan:

  • A collective portrait of Taiwanese American physician contributions (台美人醫師回饋紀錄（Our Journeys 291）) singles him out: “王國照在美國骨科有特殊的成就，當上著名的維京尼亞大學骨科主任，被聘回國當高雄醫學大學校長六年” — his six-year KMC presidency (2000–2006) is framed as part of a pattern of eminent Taiwanese American doctors giving back to Taiwan (alongside 黃崑嚴, 伍焜玉, 賴明詔, 李明亮 and others). His own account of that return is archived as 4. 王國照返台擔任高雄醫學大學校長 2000.

  • His autobiographical essay 《重披白袍》 (2010) is in the corpus: Autobiography自傳.

  • He also wrote on the pioneering generation: 《台灣醫生在美國的初期情況》 (10).

  • A fellow physician’s memoir on the 台灣人醫師協會 (NATMA) records him hosting the Virginia branch program at which English presentation was enforced for CME accreditation (台灣人醫師協會回憶（Our Journeys 201）) — evidence of leadership roles within NATMA beyond his university posts.
