Role in the Community

  • TAH encyclopedia record: his own bibliographic record in the TAHS story corpus: 09.
  • Chapter founder in the North American Taiwanese community: founded the Athens (Georgia) chapter of the North American Taiwanese Community Association / 全美台灣同鄉會 during president 許和瑞’s term, one of 9 new chapters that brought the association to 43 chapters nationwide — corpus: 2014-12.
  • 1984 blacklist-breaking return to Taiwan: one of 9 members of the 「南加州台灣同鄉會回台訪問團」(with 謝清志, 江昭儀, 蔡明憲, 歐煌坤, 李英男, 張雲彥, 許英智, 蔡淑敏) — the first hometown-association delegation to return to Taiwan after the blacklist era. At the airport the KMT demanded each traveler sign a pledge (no public statements, no anti-government speech, no participation in tang-wai activities); only 林心智 refused to sign, holding out while the rest deplaned until the pledge issue was settled — corpus: 2014-11.
  • Family tie documented in the corpus: brother of 林弘宣, one of the 美麗島事件八大受刑人 — the corpus notes the KMT deliberately feared his return and had tried to bar him from boarding because of that family tie. HOLD: corpus says brother of 林弘宣; no sibling field on the TAH profile to reconcile.
  • Taigi children’s-verse author: wrote the 台灣地理童謠 series — 2003, 2004, 2006 — plus 台灣點心歌 ( 2008) and the set to music 水果童謠 ( 2010-09), and the poem 62. 佇母親節的時. His 228台灣節日童謠 (詞曲 林心智, line 「二二八是台灣ê最疼」) was quoted in the 世界台灣文化論壇’s 75th-228 紀念宣言 (TJJ, 2022-02-21). Also essay 「百合是台灣花」 ( 2015-11).
  • Pen name 林大白 on 台灣之音: 張富雄’s radio-history memoir records the program reading his children’s poems (兒童詩) under the name 「林大白」 and airing his guitar performances — 2014-09.
  • Southern-California 生活座談會 member: joined the 南區生活座談會 (centered on Orange County, founded 1974) alongside 蔡明憲, 謝清志, 張雲彦 and others — 2016-03.
  • Painter: his 畫展作品專輯（粉彩．蠟筆）「居心地」 is in the corpus ( 2014); the 黃根深 exhibition note ( 2016-10) records him as 1944年生台中市人, 台大畢業, 喬治亞大學心理學博士, 曾任美國大學教授, and winner at the 1982 Ferrum College (Virginia) faculty-student exhibition — consistent with the TAH profile and Employment/Education tables.
