TAHS Member Onboarding

TAHS Member Onboarding is the lightweight induction pathway for people who are being introduced into the Taiwanese American Historical Society (|台美人歷史協會 (TAHS)) and the Echopedia historical-record workflow.

This page exists to give public wiki links a stable destination. It does not publish private rosters, internal spreadsheets, personal contact details, or administrative credentials.

Public-Facing Purpose

TAHS onboarding should help a new member understand:

  • the mission of preserving Taiwanese American historical memory;
  • the role of Echopedia as a living community archive;
  • how identity, names, titles, and contribution records are documented carefully;
  • privacy expectations for personal information, family records, photos, and testimony;
  • how to contribute corrections, memories, documents, and source leads.

Basic Onboarding Flow

  1. Introduction — a current TAHS/Echopedia contact introduces the person and their historical or volunteer context.
  2. Identity confirmation — names are recorded with Chinese characters, romanized forms, and role context where available.
  3. Consent boundary — the person should understand what can be public, what should remain private, and what needs explicit permission before publication.
  4. Role or title note — if a formal TAHS role is assigned, record the title and scope in the appropriate society or person page only after confirmation.
  5. Contribution path — direct the person to the community contribution hub for memories, photos, documents, corrections, and source leads.
  6. Review loop — published records remain correctable; community members may submit updates as new evidence appears.

Privacy and Safety Rules

  • Do not publish private phone numbers, private email addresses, home addresses, private spreadsheets, or internal administration links.
  • Treat family history, immigration stories, political history, church records, and elder testimony with consent-aware care.
  • Prefer public source links, official documents, and contributor-approved material.
  • If a person asks for a correction or removal of sensitive information, route it through the Echopedia correction process.

Identity Snapshot

  • Era: 2026

Vault records (deepen pass 2026-09-10)

  • The society page |TAHS documents this pathway as owner-confirmed LINE introductions, membership recorded with appointment basis — the consent-boundary rule above in practice.
  • Officers recorded through this pathway are listed on the society page, including CTO |David Lee (李東璞), one of the two people pages that link back here.

Deepen pass 2026-09-11 (vault-only)

Verified backlinks: |David Lee (李東璞) and index remain the only people pages linking here; the society page |TAHS remains the authority for owner-confirmed LINE introductions. The LINE ↔ Echopedia Identity Linking decision tree / v1 schema documents are not yet vault pages, so they stay as plain-text references (no wikilink added).

Deepen-x 2026-09-14 (corpus pass) — SKIP with reason

  • Corpus grep of content/works + content/articles for this page returns zero hits: onboarding is an internal TAHS workflow concept, not a movement figure or event, so no memoir material exists to absorb. Nothing invented; prior vault-only passes above stand.

Deepen pass 2026-09-14 (vault-only)

  • The society page’s member-records section documents this pathway applied in practice: |Rex Chen (陳乃光) (member since 2026-06-15, introduced by |Leonard Hsu Jr.), |Ken Wu (吳兆峯), and |Lester Tsai, MD (member since 2026-09-11, also introduced by Leonard Hsu Jr.) — each an instance of the identity-confirmation + consent-boundary steps above.
  • No new vault facts beyond the prior 2026-09-10/11 passes; no new pages created.

Corpus re-check 2026-09-14 (deepen-x slice 09142101-1)

SKIP-with-reason (repeat): grep for onboarding/member-onboarding in content/works + content/articles — zero hits. Internal TAHS workflow page, not a movement figure; no memoir material exists to absorb. Nothing published.
