In Taiwan Justice’s 2023 report on the 台美小姐 selection, 「台美小姐總召楊悅英」 told the Central News Agency that winner 張芳瑜 (Tiffany Chang) is a “理工女” whose talent portion was a robot she developed herself — 「模特兒不是她的志向，她參加選美是為了宣傳台灣」. Yang is quoted again saying Chang came to understand Taiwan’s international position during her reign: winning represents not only the Taiwanese-American community but Taiwan itself.
