  • 1982 — 第四屆台灣人夏令會召集人 (East Tennessee): Lin was the convener (召集人) of the 4th Taiwanese Summer Camp, held July 9, 1982 at Tusculum College near Johnson City, Tennessee, hosted by the East Tennessee Taiwanese Association and co-organized with the North American Taiwanese Professors Association (北美洲台灣人教授協會). The camp made history as the first overseas Taiwanese Summer Camp with open collective participation by 黨外 figures — the “黨外四人行” 尤清、康寧祥、張德銘、黃煌雄 — with the Southeast region as their first stop; KMT-dispatched 沈君山 and 紀政 and a large press contingent also attended. Buildings on campus were renamed in movement spirit (「美麗島大樓」「明德大樓」「秀蓮大樓」, the gymnasium 「文成館」 in memory of 陳文成, and a dormitory “台灣村”). Over 400 people attended, many sleeping on floors.
