Rutgers Taiwan Study Association is a student and youth-run nonprofit organization based at Rutgers University in New Jersey. It also organizes forums and cultural events to connect young Taiwanese studying and working in New Jersey, and works to foster cultural exchange and resource sharing between Taiwan and the United States.
Role in the Community
The group appears in the TAH corpus as part of the New Jersey Taiwanese student-community record:
- Rutgers University — the 2005 intercollegiate Taiwanese student handbook lists 羅格斯大學台灣硏究社 RTSA, documenting the club’s activity by 2005.
- Rutgers Taiwan Study Association 羅格斯大學台灣研究社 藍白拖武士 — 2018 cultural program record (published 2018-04-04).
- Rutgers TSA 台灣研究社 — 從 SARS 到 COVID-19 — 2020 pandemic-forum record (event dated 09/11/2020 in the title; published 2020-12-04).
- Rutgers TSA 網路演講活動–做工的人 — 2020-12-04 online talk (網路演講) on 「做工的人」, showing the club running documentary-linked discussion into the pandemic period alongside its forum programming.
- [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/ourjourneys356|Our Journeys #356 — New Jersey Taiwanese community]] — lists Rutgers (as item 17, rendered “Rutgers Taiwanese Students Association” in the English edition ourjourneys356-eng) among New Jersey’s major Taiwanese American organizations.
HOLD: name conflict — the 2005 handbook and Our Journeys list render the group as “RTSA / Rutgers Taiwanese Students Association”, while the TAH directory and 2018/2020 records use “Rutgers Taiwan Study Association”. Never auto-merged; treated as the same club pending owner confirmation.
