The Taiwanese-American Elite Foundation (台美智庫基金會) is an organization dedicated to encouraging experienced Taiwanese American professionals and scientists living in the United States to return to Taiwan as volunteers or consultants, contributing their expertise back to their homeland. Founded by |Professor Tu Hsin-mao (杜新茂) and |Academician Liao Shu-zong (廖述宗), the foundation serves as a platform connecting seasoned overseas Taiwanese talent — particularly retired or semi-retired scientists, engineers, and business professionals — with Taiwanese industries, research institutions, and government agencies. The foundation’s efforts closely aligned with and helped inspire Taiwan’s government-sponsored ‘Elite Project’ (伯樂計劃, see [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/97-care-for-taiwan-by-taiwanese-americans-5-elite-project-e5-8f-b0-e7-be-8e-e4-b|TAH #97]]), which similarly sought to recruit experienced overseas Taiwanese professionals. Activities organized under the foundation’s first cohort included technology and trade lectures, seminars, and consultations with domestic industry and academic leaders in Taiwan.
