Re-check: both Vault Holdings sections and all wikilink targets (incl. father 蕭欣義 / TAH #1013) verified in-vault; the bio’s truncated end (‘teaching assistantshi…’) is a source-side truncation, recorded as-is. No web used, nothing published.

Role in the Community (corpus-absorbed, 2026-09-14)

Karen Hsiao Savage’s own corpus records ([[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/musician429|TAH #429]], [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/whos-who-2108-karen-hsiao-savage|TAH #2108]]) are bibliographic/press-kit profiles; she carries no independent memoir mentions in the movement corpus. Her community footprint in the record runs through her father, a central figure of the independence movement:

  • 蕭欣義 represented the Boston 同鄉會 at the secret 1965 UFAI founding congress at the University of Wisconsin (Signed by 周烒明’s account of the 麥迪遜結盟大會): [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/ourjourneys81|TAH #81 早期威大台灣學生在台灣建國運動所扮演的角色]], and again at the 1966 Philadelphia reunification meeting of UFI/FASG that founded UFAI.
  • He was among the named blacklist figures permitted to return to Taiwan for the 台灣人教授協會 (NATUA) first Taipei annual conference in 1990: [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/ourjourneys259|TAH #259 台灣人回國的三個階段 / 朱耀源]].
  • He is listed as a Massachusetts contact in the first 全美台灣同鄉通訊錄: [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/ourjourneys58|TAH #58 回憶編印第一本《全美台灣同鄉通訊錄》的甘苦經過 / 陳希寬]].

These corroborate the family’s Victoria, Canada → U.S. East Coast geography in the Identity Snapshot. HOLD: no corpus source gives Karen herself a movement role; do not infer one from her father’s record. Nothing published.
