長笛演奏家周惠美,台灣台北人。畢業於明尼蘇達大學(University of Minnesota) 音樂藝術博士學位, 師事長笛教授Immanuel Davis。惠美曾經在北達科他州和明尼蘇達州教授長笛大師班，其中包括了明Minnesota All-State Band 和 International Music Camp。惠美的博士論文研究Pedagogy of Influential Selected Works by Marcel Moyse: A Modern Perspective, 專攻長笛教育學和法國長笛大師Marcel Moyse的作品並研究教導學生如何運用現代的長笛輔助工具 (breathing bag, breathing builder and finger breath) Marcel Moyse相結合。惠美曾應邀參加明尼蘇達音樂教育協會 (Minnesota Music Education Association) 和明尼蘇達州音樂教師協會 (Minnesota Music Teacher Association)的研討會,研討會上報告的主題是關於在長笛教學法和演奏技巧的呈現上如何搭配呼吸袋(breathing bag)的使用方式。惠美也應邀出席Marcel Moyse協會在芝加哥舉辦的第42屆國家長笛協會(National Flute Association)的論說文比賽。
