Role in the Community

  • Self-documented in the ROC blacklist record he authored: in the essay 「續黑名單」 (co-credited 何文亮、莊峻華, 2015-02), Chuang documented 42 Houston-area victims of the ROC blacklist, listing himself as entry #39 — 師大化學系、奧本大學碩士、保險經紀人、「得罪國民黨事項甚多、曾任同鄉會會長、贊成台灣獨立」 ([[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/ourjourneys106|Our Journeys #106]]). His first-person account corroborates the TAH employment table (TAA Houston Chapter president) and adds that he raised the victims’ dossier inside the 同鄉會理事會 (proposing 37 names, later 42 total).

  • Founding-era builder of the Houston Taiwanese community infrastructure: named on the Fundraising Team (募款組：李席舟、楊朝諄、林明德、莊峻華、王敦正) of the Preparation Committee that established the 休士頓台灣人活動中心 / Taiwanese Community Center of Houston, per Cheng Y. Eddie Chuang’s 2016 history of the center’s founding ([[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/ourjourneys233-eng|Our Journeys #233 EN]]; [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/ourjourneys233|Our Journeys #233]]) — committee work included the charter, fundraising (e.g. $428 at the 1982-era FAPA Torch of Democracy charity sale), property purchase, and tax-exempt application.

  • Own encyclopedia record in the movement archive: TAH #2257 profile (04/2020) ([[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/whos-who-2257-jien-hua-chuang|TAH #2257, 04/2020]]).
