Role in the Community

The corpus holds the SoCal branch (南加嘉中校友會) as an active organizational presence, not merely a Taiwan Center group-member listing:

  • 南加嘉中校友會 — organizational record in the TAH story corpus

  • 南加州嘉中校友會年刊 2008 — the association published an annual yearbook (2008 edition held in the archive), evidence of an established, dues-paying membership structure

  • 台灣青年培訓 by 南加州嘉中校友會 — the association ran 台灣青年培訓 (Taiwan youth training) programs, i.e. its activity extended beyond alumni socials into next-generation Taiwan-focused education

  • 旅美五十周年 — 鄭炳全 memoir (taiwanjustice.net, 2025-02) — a SoCal community leader’s memoir records「北醫校友會和嘉中校友會有餐會則盡量出席」: the 嘉中校友會 dinner circuit sat inside the wider SoCal Taiwanese organizational calendar (同鄉會、NATPA南加分會、台美人歷史協會), corroborating active community presence beyond the Taiwan Center group-member listing; an earlier preserved copy of the same memoir sits at 旅美五十周年 (2024-03 保存) — 鄭炳全’s account is thus continuously in the corpus since at least 2024.

Related alumni memoir: 殖民統治下台灣的堅韌－從1940年嘉義中學入學談起 (李勝和, 2019) — a Chiayi High School admission-1940 memoir held in the corpus; it documents the school generation the alumni association draws from, but does not name AACHW itself.

HOLD: the page title lists “Worldwide (AACHW)” while corpus records name the SoCal branch 南加州嘉中校友會; the relationship between the worldwide body and the SoCal branch is not stated in any corpus source — no auto-merge.
