Role in the Community — memoir corpus (absorbed 2026-09-14)

  • Per Dr. Lin Heng-che’s TUF memoir 301. 南加州臺灣人聯合基金會的誔生、回顧與展望 (1986–1996), Bonnie Yang 陳佳芬 served as the 6th chairperson of the Southern California Taiwanese United Fund (TUF 台灣人聯合基金會) in 1997 (「TUF第六任會長陳佳芬」). In that capacity she co-organized, together with 吳澧培 and 林衡哲, the landmark 1997 二二八十週年紀念音樂會.
  • That concert — conducted by 大山平一郎 and his Asian American Symphony under the title 《向台灣致敬》, pairing 金希文《第三交響曲台灣》and 蕭泰然《1947序曲》, with pianist 吳涵 performing Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 — is described by Lin as the most unforgettable 228 memorial concert in Southern California history; 蕭泰然 and 金希文 flew in from Taiwan to speak.
  • Her community-leadership record thus extends the vice-chairperson entry above into the movement’s core institutional history at |Taiwanese United Fund.
  • HOLD: conflict — TAH press-kit bio says “recently elected as a vice chairperson of Taiwanese United Foundation”; Lin Heng-che’s memoir names her TUF 第六任會長 (6th chairperson, 1997). Both are primary-sourced; not auto-merged.
