Role in the Community (deepen pass 2026-10-10, slice 10090315-3)
Pittsburgh community leadership: during his Carnegie-Mellon chairmanship (1969–1980) he served as president of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Taiwanese Association of America — 胡民祥’s documentary study 292. 早年匹茲堡台灣同鄉會簡介與歷屆會長考證 (2017-06, band A) places him as 會長 in the 1974–1975 台灣同鄉錄 roster (the roster lists no president explicitly; the 考證 infers the first-listed 幹事 as president by convention, so the exact year is 推定). The English rendering of the same study, 292 (EN): Early Pittsburgh Taiwanese Association, lists him in its “Historical Details of Past Association Presidents” table under 1974–1975, corroborating the 推定. See also Taiwanese Association of America — Pittsburgh.
First-person writing in the corpus: his 自傳 is held as 177. 蔡振水自傳 (2015-01) — full text stays in the vault.
Essay:601. 獻給彰女傑出校友的讚美和感言 (2017-11) is attributed to 蔡振水 in the story corpus. HOLD: the 彰女 (Changhua Girls’ High School) framing does not match the Miaoli birthplace on this page — attribution may be to a namesake; not merged.
No new biography invented; dates above are as stated in the cited corpus records.

Family corpus link: the spouse |Prof. Shirley Cheng Tsai (鄭秀蘭)‘s own story 227. 追求夢想的幸福女兒 (2015-04) is bylined 鄭秀蘭 in the story corpus — the household’s two first-person records (his 自傳 #177, her #227) both sit in the vault.
Full surname sweep (振水 / Chen Tsai / 鄭秀蘭 / 蔡金勳) across all 5 corpus dirs found no other unabsorbed references; Judy Hsin-Chen Tsai (蔡幸珍) is a different Tsai family, not linked.
