Role in the Community

  • Featured artist in the 「台灣名家演奏系列」 of 台灣人聯合基金會 (TUF): at TUF’s 30th anniversary in 2016 the 「曾宇謙小提琴獨奏會」 drew an especially enthusiastic response, recorded by TUF as one of the series’ highlights alongside 胡乃元、林昭亮、陳慕融、蘇顯達 and others (TUF 台美文藝工作紀錄, TAH ourjourneys 294).
  • Educational reach in the community: the 大洛杉磯台灣會館台灣學校 classical-music appreciation class (2016-05-08) used his award-winning concert recording as its finale feature (see From the record).
  • Own TAH encyclopedia entries: [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/whoswho1408|TAH #1408]], [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/musician374|TAH #374]], and interview video [[works/taiwaneseamericanhistory-org/videos111|【台灣演義】小提琴家 曾宇謙, TAH #111]].
  • Instrument lineage in the Taiwanese community: he began borrowing fine violins from 許文龍’s 奇美博物館 collection at age 11, the loan TJJ’s 許文龍 obituary singles out as the best-known story of 奇美 lending its 17th–18th-century instruments to Taiwanese violinists; he won silver at the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition (TJJ「不要為我造墓」許文龍專輯, 2024-02-25).
  • Broadcast coverage in the corpus: 公視日光大道曾宇謙專訪 (2015-07-03, around his Tchaikovsky Competition year) is indexed in TJJ’s 公視 tag archive (TJJ 公視 tag index, 2022-11-27) — the only in-corpus record of a Taiwanese broadcast profile of him.
